Obituary for Henry W Shoulders

Henry W ShouldersHenry W. Shoulders, age 85 of Adairville, KY, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at Waters of Springfield, TN. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 30, 2018 at the Dean Funeral Chapel in Adairville, KY with Pastor Phil Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville with Mike Ball, Joe Hyatt, Billy Henderson, Russell Boyd, Tyler Shoulders and Wayne Brown serving as pallbearers. Joshua Henderson will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 am until the hour of service at 2 pm.

Mr. Shoulders was born April 3, 1933 in Logan Co. KY to the late Hoy W. and Ruth Coleman Shoulders. A daughter, Melisha Ann Shoulders also preceded him in death. Henry was a farmer and a carpenter.

Bob WoodardJohn Robert “Bob” Woodard, age 85 of Springfield, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Alicia Burton and Rev. Mark Calvert-Rosenberger officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Phil Spicer, Jason Woodard, Phillip Spicer, John Krisle, Frank Sanford, Darren Hallman, Neil Southerland, and Ted Stubblefield serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Springfield Civitan Club. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

Mr. Woodard was born October 26, 1932 in Robertson County to the late William and Jessie Frances Winters Woodard. He was a member of Central Christian Church and was a farmer. He was also a member of the Springfield Civitan Club and the American and Tennessee Hereford Associations. He was also a past member of the Board of Directors of Farm Bureau. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William W. “Bill” Woodard and a niece, Libby Spicer.

floral squareHe is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jane “Dot” Woodard of Springfield; nephew, Winn Woodard and wife Kathy of Springfield; niece, Sherry Keene of Atlanta, GA; great nephews, Phil Spicer and wife Annie of Springfield and Jason Woodard of Nashville; nieces, Beth Woodard of Nashville, Nan Moore and husband Miller of Knoxville, and Krista Massey and husband Chad of Atlanta, Ga; and nephew-in-law, Phillip Spicer of Nashville.

Obituary for Charles Davis Cook

Charles Davis CookCharles Davis Cook, age 68 of Orlinda, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Alive Hospice Madison Campus. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Elder Margaret Strain officiating. Following the service his remains were cremated. Visitation was held Saturday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

Mr. Cook was born November 9, 1949 in Robertson County to the late James Thomas and Leland Louise Miles Shannon Cook. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. He worked as an industrial supervisor with Sunbeam and then drove a truck for S&F Delivery. In his later years he drove a school bus for Robertson County Schools.

Obituary for Lillie Mae Reese

Lillie Mae ReeseLillie Mae Gourley Reese, 84, of Springfield, died Thursday May 24, 2018 at McKendree Healthcare in Hermitage. Funeral services were conducted Sunday May 27th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Marvin Crouch officiating. Interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery in White House with William Wright, Samuel Wright, Brent Hedgcoth, James Hedgcoth, Ken Beyer, and Mark Atwell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Eli Atwell. The family received friends on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Reese was born February 17, 1934 in White House to the late Herman Joseph and Jessie Mae O’Neal Gourley. She was a homemaker and a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ. Mrs. Reese enjoyed going to church, quilting, sewing, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Paul Melvin Reese, and her brothers: Raymond and Jodie Gourley.

floral squareMrs. Reese is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Camellia Webb of Madison, Krista Reese and Ken Beyer of Bossier City, LA, Karroll Wright of Spring Hill, and Deidree and Mark Atwell of Nashville, her sister-in-law: Mary Ann Hagan and husband: Dr. George Hagan of Madison, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, with her sixth great grandchild soon to arrive.

Mr. Butler is preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” Butler.

Christian Gerald McKenzieChristian Gerald McKenzie, age 21 of Ohio and formerly of Hendersonville, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018.

Christian was a 2015 Graduate of Hendersonville High School, where he was a member of the Wrestling Team, and an aspiring MMA Fighter who just fought and won his first match. He was a giving person who gave the ultimate gift by donating his organs so others could live. He took great joy in making others smile and laugh.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Brandi Allocco and Philip Allocco, Jr.; brother, Foster Allocco; sister, Chloe McKenzie; grandmother, Pat McKenzie; grandfather and step-grandmother, Mike and Mary McKenzie; grandmother, Diane Mervine; and grandfather, Philip Allocco, Sr.

Mr. Stewart served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 30 years of service. He was a very kindhearted man who was devoted to his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Reba Frances Stewart; parents, James and Jewel Stewart and his daughter in law, Debra Stewart. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Stewart Jones; son, James Stewart; grandchildren, Amber (Adam) Clouse, Ashley (Joshua) Singletary, William (Tosha) Stewart, Tiffany and Joshua Jones; great-grandchildren, Bailey Stewart, Kaylee Stewart, Natasha Baron and Memphis Clouse; great great-grandchild, Carly Shea Stewart.

Susan Morrow RobertsSusan Morrow Roberts, age 59 of Gallatin, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 24, 2018. Susan was very smart and hard working. She loved her husband and her work. She was devoted to the Lord, her family and her church. She was a member of the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church Choir, a member of the Searchers Sunday School Class, and a former member of the Decatur, Georgia, First United Methodist Church and their choir. She was passionate about her work at Sedgwick and loved her co-workers. She loved her stepdaughter, her granddaughter, and her great-grandchildren.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Edna Morrow; and her first husband, Jim Buie.

She is survived by her husband of 10 years, David Roberts; her stepdaughter, Lisa Prevatt; her granddaughter, Brittany (Ben) Wardrip; and her great-grandchildren, Owen, Aislinn, and Sebastian.

Chloe Evelyn HunterChloe Evelyn Hunter, age 90, of Pleasant View, Tennessee died Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services were conducted at 7 o’clock pm, Friday, May 25th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Robert Hand and Bro. Paul Edwards officiating. Her remains were cremated following the service. The family received friends at the funeral home from 1:00-7:00PM on Friday prior to the funeral service.

Honorary pallbearers were: Danny Moon, Dennis Moon, Tommy Williams, Billy Williams, Felix Tejeda, Wayne Hunter, Donnie Hunter, Kim “Bo” Shearron, Glenn Shearron, Greg Hunter, Larry Dale Hunter, and David Hunter.

Mrs. Hunter was born on September 29, 1927, in Pleasant View, Tennessee to the late Alec and Vivian Williams. She was a homemaker and taught at the Mt. Zion school after attending Austin Peay Normal School (now Austin Peay State University). She was also a life-long member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Bob Hunter; son, Phillip Hunter; six brothers and two sisters.

He was a kind, wonderful, and loving husband and father.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emory Dozier and Jennie Belle Harris Dozier; his brothers, Max Dozier and Connie Dozier.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol Dozier; their 2 children, Nickolas Dozier and Amy (Blake Lacy) Dozier; sisters-in-law, Betty Dozier, Spicey Dozier, and Amy Young; brother-in-law, Wayne (Jean) Young; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews who were all very special to him.

Visitation was held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Saturday, May 26th, from 4:00-8:00PM and again on Sunday from 1:00-2:00PM.
Funeral service was held at 2:00PM on Sunday, May 27th at the funeral home with Bro. Dan Dozier officiating. Burial followed in EverRest of Cheatham with Tim Farmer, Willie Hannah, Steve Dozier, Jay Rogers, Carl Cothren, and Austin Harris serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the Geeslin Corner Volunteer Fire Department, L.C. Dozier, Bill Bennett, Patrick Crum, Bob Lindikens, and Tom Gillion.
