Large Industrial Fire Destroys A.E.S. Facility In Barren Plains Early Sunday
Fire crews from across Robertson County battled a fire at A.E.S. (American Earth Solutions) since 3:30am Sunday morning. A.E.S. Manufactures straw mats and is located near Hwy 161 and Barren Plains Rd. (Location of fire)
It appears that most of the large manufacturing facility is affected and will likely be a total loss. A.E.S. Employs between 15 and 20 people currently, according to company officials.
We’re told that this type of fire will take several hours to get under control and may smolder for days.
According to Emergency Management Director, R.L. Douglas, there was no danger to the surrounding communities.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time. See video report for the full story.

What’s going on in Barren Plains? So many fires. First the garage with the apartment above (charred remains never cleaned up, same corner of 161 and Barren Plains).. Then the old Corbin house with all the pallets, the other old Corbin house (right next to the other one that burned), the Corbin barn (161/HB Lee), the Baggetts barn that sits right next to this business that just burned!! Is this just a coincidence that so many fires have happened in little ole Barren Plains?
