Lost Puppy Found Frozen To The Ground Saved By Family
According to April Dickerson of Greenbrier, her husband Jason went out to the car this morning and heard a strange noise. The noise intrigued him so he let his ears guide him to the source. What he found was a cute little puppy frozen to the ground.
April says people often drop off animals in her neighborhood. “We have dogs and cats dropped off here all the time, the dog catcher knows our street well.” Though there is a chance the dog escaped her owners, April told us she thinks the dog may have been abandoned.
According to April, Jason had to slowly melt the ice under the dog to get her fur free from the frozen ground. There’s a small patch of fur missing on the dog’s hind end but otherwise the dog is in great shape, happy and playful, April said.
“She is eating adult dog food but still has puppy breath,” April says. Her husband Jason said the dog was very hungry and practically attacked the food.
April posted the lost dog on Smokey’s Lost and found page. If you have any information about the dog you can reach April at [email protected].
April says, “I have no idea what breed she is but we cannot keep her unfortunately. We’re trying to find her a good forever home. If no one claimed her or we can’t find her a GOOD forever home, we will be taking her to a No-kill Rescue Shelter.”

I am interested in one of the puppies or even the one April and her husband found if they cannot keep her. I sent her an email already. How can I reach you?
Thank you April. That little girl ran off this morning when she was let out to go potty. I looked for her for 3 hrs. I hoped someone took her. Glad you found and saved her. Glad you decided to keep her. I have 4 more living in my house. If anyone interested.
