Police Investigate Body Found in Yard of Springfield Home
UPDATE: Springfield Police have identified the individual found unresponsive early Thursday morning as Christopher Darden, 53, of Springfield. Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of South Main Street around 4:00 a.m. and located Mr. Darden in the yard of a home. He was pronounced deceased at the scene and later transported to TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield. Authorities have reported no apparent cause of death at this time and no foul play is suspected.
SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Springfield police are investigating after a body was discovered in the backyard of a home located at the intersection of South Main Street and 21st Avenue, the first call coming into 911 around 4:15 a.m. Thursday morning. Springfield police, Robertson County EMS, and the Springfield Fire Department were all called to the scene.
The body was found in the backyard of a home on the corner, across from the One-Stop Market. Sources tell Smokey Barn News that the cause of death was not apparent, and a detective has been called in to further investigate.
As soon as authorities are prepared to release more information, such as the cause of death and the identity of the individual we will bring it to you.
UPDATE: According to officials with Robertson County EMS, authorities are considering the possibility that the individual may have been homeless.
