Sen. Roberts Announces New Committee Assignments, New Staff, and New Office

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) State Senator Kerry Roberts (R-Springfield) has announced updates regarding his committee assignments, office location, and staff changes for the 114th General Assembly. In the announcement, Roberts shared his new roles on key Senate committees, the transition of leadership in the Government Operations Committee, and welcomed a new legislative assistant.

“It’s an honor to join Chair Dawn White on the Senate Committee for Education and Chair Richard Briggs on the Senate Committee for State and Local Government,” said Roberts. “I’ll continue to serve on the Senate Judiciary Committee and assist Chair Todd Gardenhire as Vice-Chair.”

Senator Roberts chaired the Senate Committee for Government Operations for the past six years and served on the committee for over ten years.

“During my tenure on Government Operations, I’ve had the joy of partnering with the administrations of Governor Haslam and Governor Lee to make Tennessee one of the best-managed and constituent-focused state governments in America,” said Roberts. “We’ve accomplished so much, and the time has come to turn the gavel over to Senator Ed Jackson. Chairman Jackson has served alongside me for many years, and I’m extremely confident in his leadership and ability to continue our important work.”

Senator Roberts welcomes Lisa Falkenbach as his new legislative assistant.

“Lisa has a distinguished career in the General Assembly,” said Roberts. “We first met when she worked for Speaker Beth Harwell. Over the years, I’ve been impressed with her positive attitude and willingness to help. Her knowledge and experience will benefit our constituents in the 23rd Senate District.”

Senator Roberts also praised previous Legislative Assistant Janet Batchelor, who moved to Leader Jack Johnson’s office.

“Janet did a wonderful job in our office,” he added. “She is well-known and loved by many Tennesseans in our district for her help in solving countless constituent problems. She was also an outstanding member of the Government Operations team. We are excited for her as she embarks on a new opportunity in Leader Johnson’s office.”

Senator Roberts’ office is now in Suite 746 on the 7th floor of the Cordell Hull Building.
