Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency hosts a “Young Sportsman Deer Hunt” for ages 6-16
Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Cheatham Wildlife Management Area – (near Ashland City) Lunch will be provided on Saturday for anyone that wishes to stop by and visit at no cost. Door prizes will also be given away to any young sportsmen that attends.

Volunteers and participants are needed for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Young Sportsman’s Deer Hunt on October 26. If you are between the ages of 6-16 this is a special hunt for you. However, you must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult at least 21 who must remain in position to take immediate control of the hunting device.
Volunteers are needed if you are over 21 and wish to mentor a youth and share the wonderful experience of hunting in the outdoors.
Requirements: Participants
-Only ages 6 through 16 may participate
-Hunter Safety Certified
-Must have appropriate licenses
Volunteers:
-Hunter Safety Certified
-18 years of age or older or 21 or older to mentor
Come hunt over 20,000 acres of prime white-tail habitat at Cheatham Wildlife Management Area. This will be the first firearm hunt of the season on the WMA, making it a golden opportunity for the young sportsmen to harvest a deer.
On Friday, October 25, there will be camping and a cookout at no cost for volunteers, participants and anybody that wants to get together before the next day’s hunt.
