 Trial By Evidence

One night a man had a dream and he dreamed that he had died.

He found himself in a courtroom where his soul was being tried.

On his left side of the devil and on his face he had a grin. He said, you know you were guilty for I have evidence of all your sins.

Now on his right stood Moses and he said Satan cannot have the, for we have sent for a witness and he’s coming from Calvary.

Well, the devil tried his very best and the evidence piled high, but then it began to disappear as the witness walked inside.

The witness walked up and took the stand, then he looked at the judge and said, “My Father”, please set him free, for this evidence no longer exists. I left it on that cross at Calvary

-Rick Hardec 1981

Case For Rescue

“I simply argue that the cross be raised again, at the center of the marketplace as well as on the steeple of the church.

Jesus was not crucified in a cathedral between two candles but on a cross between two thieves; on a town garbage heap; at a crossroad of politics so cosmopolitan that they had to write His title in Hebrew and in Latin and in Greek…and at the kind of place where cynics talk smut, and thieves curse, and soldiers gamble. Because that is where He died, And that is what He died about.

And that is where Christ’s own ought to be, And that is what church people ought to be about.”

-George Macleod

“Some men look for tall steeples and big bells. Give me a rescue mission one yard from hell.”

-Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Prosperity knits a man to the world

“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.”
‭‭(1 John‬ ‭2:15-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬)
The Bible may hurt you with the truth, but it will never comfort you with a lie. —
“Prosperity knits a man to the World. He feels that he is ‘finding his place in it’, while really it is finding its place in him. His increasing reputation, his widening circle of acquaintances, his sense of importance, the growing pressure of absorbing and agreeable work, build up in him a sense of being really at home in earth, which is just what we want.”
— C.S. Lewis
From ‘The Screwtape Letters’

Quotes

Man can’t find the truth, not because it is lost, but because he is.

No matter what one’s past may be, the future is always spotless.

Despite inflation, the wages of sin have never been reduced.

When a dove begins to associate with crows, it’s feathers remain white, but its heart grows black.

God has given us the privilege of making choices of life — BUT He sets the consequences!

The cross is the LAST argument of God.

State Of the Nation

Revival must begin in the church before awakening can happen in the nation.

“There is a striking parallel between the condition of the country and the church. As the Constitution means little to Americans today, so too the Bible means little to the average church member. Church members generally are as ignorant of the Bible as are Americans of the Constitution. Too many people within our borders are Americans in name, but un-American in their hearts and anti-America in their conduct. The church has a corresponding ailment, Christians in name, but in reality are only once-born children of Adam. The American spirit is sadly eroded today by distrust, by corruption in high places, by moral decay. It won’t be restored merely by flag-wavings and drum-beatings and Fourth of July speeches. It may not be possible to raise a new crop of patriots in such shallow soil. It may take disaster to make us realize what we had. There is also a Christian spirit in the Church that has that need.”

There is a great need for God’s people to recognize our responsibility as keepers of the flame of faith and it is we who must first turn to the Lord.
(II Chronicles 7:14)

-Old Time PreacherVance Havner

“The Devil is the great imitator. He does more harm as an angel of light than he ever did as a roaring lion.…

There’s a wave of simulated religion going around today.

Even good people are afraid to say anything about it.”

Vance Havner (1901–1986)

“When Christ Returns, we want to hear “well done”. We want to have lived a life of purpose and to have completed the assignment he has for us. This documentary film covers how following the Holy Spirit allows us to complete our God-given purpose. This is definitely one to share with others and to watch with a group. Be blessed!” Ambassadors of Christ (AOC) Network

New Testament is T.N.T

Some time ago a man took his worn New Testament to a bookbinder to bind it with a fine Morocco leather cover and to print the new testament on the edge in gold-leaf letters.

At the appointed time he returned to find his New Testament beautifully bound. The bookbinder had one apology, however: “I did not have small enough type in my shop to print out fully the words on the edge, so I abbreviated them.”

Looking on the edge of his book, the man saw — T.N.T

This is true! It’s God’s dynamite. The Bible says “The gospel is the power of God unto salvation” (Romans 1:16)

-the Evangel

Saved!, How?

  1. All have sinned—“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” – Romans 3:23
  1. Sin must be paid for—“For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life” – Romans 6:23
  1. Jesus Christ paid for our sins—“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” – Romans 5:8
  1. What we must do—“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”  – Romans 10:13
  1. How we can know we are on our way to Heaven—“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life…” – John 3:36
  1. How To be Sure We are Saved—“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”  – John 1:12

Prayer is our most powerful resource and our direct line with Heaven! You can call on the Lord any hour of the day or night no matter where you are. Pray honestly and openly with the Lord in your own words from the heart. Richard Sibbes Once said, “God can pick sense out of a confused prayer!” And The angel fetched Peter out of prison, but it was prayer that fetched the angel according to Thomas Watson. So pray!!!, God is listening, he knows you, He knew you before you were born according to Jeremiah 1:5.
