THP: Orlinda Boy On Bicycle Hit By Pickup Truck In Serious Condition 

ORLINDA TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – An eight-year-old Orlinda boy was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville after he was struck by a pickup truck Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred 5:31 pm on Justice Rd off Hwy 49, about a mile from downtown Orlinda. LOCATION OF ACCIDENT

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s investigating Trooper,  the boy and his sister were riding bikes through the woods on Justice Rd. Both children were traveling fast down a hill through trees when they came across Justice Rd in front of a Ford F150 pickup truck. The sister was able to jump out of the way, but the male juvenile was struck by the front of the vehicle. The male juvenile sustained serious head injuries and was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt Pediatric Hospital in Nashville.

The driver of the pickup, a 29-year-old Orlinda man, will not face charges.

The Tennesee Highway Patrol, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, Roberton County EMS, and the Orlinda Fire Department all responded to the call.
