TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center Welcomes First Baby of 2025

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News)  – TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center has announced the arrival of its first baby of the new year. Baby Daniel made his debut on January 1st at 8:50 p.m., weighing 6 pounds, 15 ounces. Both mother and baby are reported to be in good health.

January 1st baby stats. In 2020, an estimated 392,078 babies were born worldwide on New Year’s Day, according to UNICEF In the United States, approximately 10,452 babies were born on January 1, 2020. UNICEF

Although some people may attempt to schedule a birth for a particular day—such as to align with a new year, a holiday, or a personal preference—birthdays on New Year’s Day do not significantly exceed those of other days in the year. Birth rates are often spread across the year, and specific days, including January 1st, don’t tend to have any more or fewer births than any other single day, outside of general trends.

Comparison to Other Holidays: Births on January 1st aren’t much higher than on other notable dates like Christmas or Thanksgiving, where holiday scheduling or elective births could impact the statistics. However, they do stand out somewhat due to the symbolism of the new year, but it’s still within a range consistent with typical birth patterns.

Global Birth Rate: The average number of babies born each day worldwide is estimated at about 385,000, so while January 1st’s 392,078 is a significant number, it is not an extraordinary increase when compared to other days.

Smokey Barn News would like to congratulate Baby Daniel’s family on the new addition. And hey, we always enjoy getting new readers—whatever the method. So, welcome to Robertson County, Baby Daniel!
