Normally, the public is invited and encouraged to attend; however, due to the size of the meeting room and social distancing/gathering mandates for the Coronavirus, the meeting was closed to the public.

Smokey Barn News partnered with the city of Greenbrier to bring the meeting safely to you.

BREAKING: During the meeting, Alderman Davis made the motion to place the City Administrator (Rachel Slusser) on “paid administrative leave pending a review of and need for the position.”

The motion was a last-minute addition to the agenda by Alderman Chris Davis. At least two Alderman, (Delong and Higdon) were surprised by the motion and voted no. Everyone else present, including the Mayor, voted yes and the motion passed. The decision was effective immediately following the vote.

Rachel Slusser: “Does it start as soon as I leave here? Alderman Davis: “Yes” Slusser, (acting as the city recorder for the meeting) took the vote which passed 5 t0 2. The agenda item starts at 44:07 in the video.
