The completion of the Waffle House contract took place in January, with construction slated to commence at the start of July. The Greenbrier City Planning and Zoning Commission recently received a proposal from Brandon Frank Construction for the Nelson Reserve Development. The proposal includes plans for a standalone restaurant spanning 5,000 square feet. Additionally, submissions were made for a retail dining plaza, featuring a 5,000-square-foot restaurant alongside 2,000 square feet of open-air dining space and three 2,500-square-foot units. One of these units is earmarked for a drive-thru fast food restaurant.

Stephanie Toland, City Recorder, expressed enthusiasm for this development, highlighting its potential to draw more visitors to the area for local shopping and dining. She emphasized the anticipated increase in revenue streams such as sales taxes, property taxes, and building fees, which will facilitate the city’s ability to manage operational expenses and fund additional paving projects.

“We are thrilled to have this type of development in Greenbrier that will attract more people to shop and eat locally.” Stephanie Toland, City Recorder
