Friday Night Storm Topples Trees, Cuts Power to Thousands in Robertson County

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A powerful storm system swept through Robertson County on Friday night, bringing heavy rain and strong winds that led to widespread impacts across the area. According to the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, approximately 7,000 residents experienced power outages at the peak of the storm. As of early Saturday morning, that number has decreased to just under 800 customers still without power, with outages scattered throughout the county.

Numerous reports have been received of trees downed across the county, contributing to the power outages and posing hazards on roadways. Significant rainfall and high winds have also likely caused minor flooding in low-lying areas and potential wind damage to structures.

While Robertson County faced notable challenges, areas to the east and north experienced even more severe conditions. In northern Middle Tennessee, over 14,000 power outages were reported, with significant impacts in counties such as Sumner, Macon, and Wilson. Further north, in St. Louis, Missouri, the storm proved deadly, with at least five fatalities reported and extensive damage to buildings and infrastructure. The National Weather Service has indicated that the severe weather threat continues for parts of the Midwest and Southeast through the weekend, with risks of large hail, damaging winds, and potential tornadoes.
