15-Year-Old Sycamore High Student Tristen Franklin Dies While Jogging in Pleasant View

PLEASANT VIEW, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News)  – The community of Pleasant View is mourning the unexpected loss of 15-year-old Tristen Franklin, a student at Sycamore High School, who tragically passed away on Tuesday while jogging outdoors.

According to the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred in Pleasant View. While the exact cause of death has not yet been determined, it is worth noting that temperatures in Middle Tennessee soared above 100 degrees on the day Tristen was jogging.

According to his online obituary, Tristin Ronald Franklin, was a dedicated sophomore at Sycamore High School, and was passionate about track and cross-country, where he excelled. He was born on September 6, 2008, in Nashville and was deeply loved by his family, including his parents Phil and Patty Franklin, his sister Carly White, and his grandparents Ron Franklin and Maureen Redman. Tristin also cherished his dogs, Gunner and Trooper. For those wishing to honor his memory, contributions can be made to the Sycamore High School Track & Cross-Country Team. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 pm, Thursday, September 5th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View located at 6316 Highway 41A,. MAP  Following the service, Tristin’s remains will be cremated. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 5th, beginning at 4:00 PM until the hour of service at 6:00 PM.

In response to this heartbreaking event, the Cheatham County School District has expressed its deep sorrow over the loss of one of its students. “The Cheatham County School District is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of a Sycamore High School student. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the student’s family and friends during this difficult time. The impact of such a loss is immeasurable. Counseling support is being provided this week at Sycamore High School to assist those affected during this grieving process,” the district stated.
