911 Call- “Someone’s Breaking In” Sheriff- “We got ’em!”

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Robertson County Sheriff’s Deputies foiled a burglary/robbery early Wednesday after the resident called 911 to say someone was breaking into her home.

The call came into 911 around 6:19 am. The resident locked herself in the bathroom and waited for police to arrive. As the resident waited in the bathroom she could hear the would-be thief breaking the glass and opening the garage door.

The home is located at the very top of the county near the Kentucky border on Robertson Rd. MAP  Robertson County Deputies wasted no time and arrived while the suspect was still inside the home.

According to Robertson County Sheriff’s Office PIO Ryan Martin, the suspect, now identified as Rashawn Williams, 38, of Springfield, was after a vehicle parked in the garage. The suspect allegedly made his way inside home looking for the keys to the vehicle and that’s when Deputies arrived and made the arrest.

Martin told Smokey Barn News that Williams confessed to breaking into the home and stealing the vehicle, or trying too.

Williams booking information lists him as homeless.

Williams was charged with Aggravated Burglary, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, three counts of Theft Of Property and vandalism. He was transported to the Robertson County Jail in Springfield on a $40,500 bond.
