Heroes Come To The Rescue After Rollover In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Two people were transported to area hospitals following a two-vehicle rollover crash in Springfield Sunday night.  The crash occurred on 5th Ave near Memorial Blvd around 8:30 pm. LOCATION OF CRASH

Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles after the crash. Springfield Police were the first to arrive and, with the assistance of a few good samaritans, wasted no time freeing one of the drivers.

The second vehicle, on its side, would offer more challenges for first responders. Springfield Firefighters, with the aid of Robertson County EMS, teamed up to rescue the trapped driver. Using a special tool or saw, first responders cut out the front glass of the vehicle to free the injured driver.

Thankfully neither driver appeared to have sustained life-threatening injuries, both were alert and talking to medics however both were transported to local hospitals, and we do not know their condition.

5th Ave was closed for about an hour while Springfield Police investigated the crash and the scene was cleared.

Springfield Police, the Springfield Fire Department and Robertson County EMS all responded to the scene.
