VIDEO: Back To Back Fires Stretch Resources In Robertson County
ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Two back-to-back structure fires stretched resources in Robertson County late Sunday/early Monday morning.
The first fire was at a home located on Raymond Head Rd just outside Springfield city limits, the first call coming into 911 around 10:40 pm Sunday evening. MAP The fire displaced a Springfield area family.
According to Acting Fire Chief Captain Wayne Bennett with the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department, the fire started in a bedroom. Bennett told Smokey Barn News that when units first arrived the room was fully engulfed in flames and, smoke pushing out the doors. Bennett said–“We made an interior attack and knocked the fire down.”
Chief Bennett said there were two adults and two or three children but everyone was out of the home when his crew arrived and no injuries have been reported. It was another great stop for local firefighters who contained fire damage to just one room but there is smoke and water damage so the home will need repairs before it is livable again. The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
The Pleasant View Volinteer Fire Department, the White House Community Volinteer Fire Department, Robertson County EMS the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, and CEMC all responded to the scene.
The second fire was a large three-bay garage located on Stone Creek Trail near the Tom Austin Hwy and Old Hwy 431 intersection. MAP the first call coming into 911 at 1:17 am Monday morning. The call went out just as firefighters were finishing up on Raymond Head Rd. The fire was massive, triggering a multi-agency response from firefighters all across Robertson County.
The building was already a fireball when first responders arrived with multiple explosions reported by personnel on the ground. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to an adjacent wooded area and nearby homes but unfortunately, the structure is a total loss. The condition of the building will no doubt complicate the investigation into an exact cause. The Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department, the Greenbrier Fire Department, the White House Community Volunteer Fire Department, the Ridgetop Fire Department, Robertson County EMS, the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, and CEMC all responded to the scene.
Based on our communication with officials, we don’t believe there is any reason to connect these two fires however Smokey Barn News will maintain communication with investigators as they make their way through the process, should any new data emerge, we will certainly bring it to you.
