Heritage Elementary School Awarded TVA Grant for STEM Advancement

WHITE HOUSE, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Heritage Elementary School has been awarded a Tennessee Valley Authority grant for the second consecutive year, securing a total of $10,000 in funding over two years to enhance STEM education.

This year’s grant supports the “Foundational Career Exploration and Development with iPads and Adobe Express” project, which provides students with dedicated iPads to explore graphic design and appropriate AI usage through Adobe Express. The initiative aligns with Robertson County Schools’ commitment to preparing students for success in a technology-driven world.

Through this project, students are introduced to digital content creation by generating visual representations of literary characters based on novel studies. This hands-on experience fosters creativity while promoting foundational career exploration in emerging technologies.

The grant was written by Heritage Elementary lead interventionist Kaci Mexic, whose dedication has been instrumental in securing funding for innovative learning opportunities. Her efforts have allowed students to engage in specialized STEM activities that enhance their educational experience.

Heritage Elementary School extends its gratitude to TVA and Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation for their continued support in providing students with access to cutting-edge technology and enrichment opportunities.
