Gunfire Erupts in Gallatin Neighborhood / Two Confirmed Shot
GALLATIN, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Earlier this evening, a shooting in a residential area of South Maple Avenue in Gallatin prompted a large response from emergency crews.
The first reports came in around 7:39 PM, with indications of ongoing gunfire and multiple individuals injured. One male suspect, described as wearing black clothing and dreadlocks, was said to have fled the area but was later taken into custody.
Emergency personnel responded to the 180 block of South Maple Avenue, temporarily closing portions of Long Hollow and Ford Street. LOCATION OF INCIDENT Two gunshot victims were confirmed and transported—one to Sumner Regional Medical Center and another to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Preliminary information suggests additional individuals may have been injured. Early accounts described a male shot in the chest, another in the side, and one person on the porch who was unresponsive. There were also (unconfirmed) reports that children may have been injured, but at the moment, we can only confirm that two adults were transported to area hospitals. Reports indicate it was a chaotic scene.
Multiple agencies responded to the incident. A perimeter was established, and at one point, officers were seen interacting with multiple individuals as they worked to secure the area. A K-9 unit was also deployed.
