Driver Charged Following Rollover in Greenbrier Saturday Morning

GREENBRIER, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Here’s a look at the rollover crash that occurred this morning in Greenbrier, right in front of the Deerfield Inn. Two vehicles were involved, and one person was injured in the crash. The first call came in to 911 at 6:58 a.m. LOCATION OF CRASH

When officers arrived, they found a gray Subaru overturned in the roadway and a pickup truck with a trailer that had sustained rear-end damage.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the Subaru, traveling northbound, had crossed into the southbound lane, striking the oncoming truck and trailer. The impact caused the Subaru to flip. According to multiple witnesses and a release from Greenbrier Police, the Subaru had been traveling northbound prior to veering into oncoming traffic.

According to Greenbrier Police, the driver of the Subaru stated at the scene, “I’m drunk,” and was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Following medical clearance, the driver was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

One official at the scene told Smokey Barn News that the truck and trailer were hauling the excavator pictured in our video report, which added weight and stability to the trailer — a factor that may have prevented the crash from being more severe. For clarification, the excavator did not come off during the accident; it was removed afterward.

Greenbrier Police emphasized that driving under the influence endangers everyone’s lives on the roadway and that the department remains committed to proactive enforcement to keep the community safe.

Greenbrier Police, with the Greenbrier Fire Department, Robertson County EMS and the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency all responded to the scene. Drake’s Auto Repair & Towing recovered the vehicles.
