ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Springfield businessman Keith Hoover has announced his candidacy for Robertson County Mayor. Hoover is the first to formally enter the 2026 election race.

“I have been encouraged by many Robertson Countians to run for the Office of County Mayor over the past several years,” said Hoover. “It is very humbling to have many of the citizens of this great county tout our success during my time serving on the County Commission and as the County Budget Chairman, and for them to want me to serve in the role of County Mayor. Now that Mayor Vogle has decided to retire, I would like to see us build upon the county’s successes as we move forward, making this county the best place in Tennessee to live, work, raise a family, and retire.”

Hoover, a successful local business owner, has served for twelve (12) years as a Robertson County Commissioner. Keith was selected as the County’s Budget Chairman for seven (7) years. During his tenure, Robertson County made many improvements without having a property tax increase while maintaining an AA bond rating, one of the best in the state. Some of the improvements included increased funding for public safety and schools.

“One of my proudest moments that I had serving as the County Budget Chairman was working with our Sheriff to provide a School Resource Officer to every public school in Robertson County. Protecting our children has and will continue to be a priority to me. I also pushed to increase services and resources in our county Veteran Service Office. I have always supported our local heroes and veterans that have put their lives on the line for us, and I will continue to do so as your Mayor.”

Keith Hoover has lived in Robertson County his entire life. He has been married to the love of his life, Erica, for 25 years and is the proud father of Emma. Keith attended Western Kentucky University studying Business Management after graduating White House High School. He has owned and managed successful companies for 30 years to include J&K Food Stores and Hoover Rental Properties while also being a public servant. Keith is a man of faith and understands that a great community is built on positive relationships and partnerships with blessings from God.

“I believe with my knowledge and experience in budgeting, financial management, human resources, performance measurements, communications, and best business practices, that I am well suited for the demands of this office. I understand the pressures that we are facing as a community and believe we must have responsible controlled growth to maintain our expected quality of life. I promise to put Robertson Countians first, lead with honesty and integrity, and serve the people of this great county with my full devotion.”
