Betty Lambert Richards, 59, of Cedar Hill, passed from this life on Sunday November 9, 2025, at her home. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Friday November 14th at 12 noon in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Betty was born April 14, 1966, in Springfield, to the late Morris Jasper and Margaret Carolyn Wilkinson Lambert. She was a graduate of Jo Byrns High School Class of 1984 and was of the Baptist faith. Betty formerly worked as City Recorder for the City of Cedar Hill. She enjoyed cooking and canning, and her favorite pastime was being at home spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren that she loved so much, and with her cat: Charlie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Bobby Wayne Richards. Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Casey and Lenny Lyman of Cedar Hill, by her grandchildren: Dylan (Haley Tayse) Lyman, McKaylee “Sissy” Lyman, John Morris Lyman, Hailee (Caleb Clinard) Logan, and Lenny Lyman, Jr., and by her sister and brother-in-law: Lisa and Randy Appleton of Springfield.

Irene Ruth Carroll PageIrene Ruth Carroll Page, age 91, of Cedar Hill, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Brookdale Senior Living in Clarksville. Graveside services will be conducted at 1pm Thursday, November 13th in the Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery in Springfield.

Mrs. Page was born August 12, 1934, in Robertson County, to the late Allie Carroll, and the late Ruth Brown Carroll. She was a Supervisor with AT&T for many years and a member of Oakland Baptist Church.

In to her parents, Mrs. Page was preceded in death by her husbands, Oval Page and Cope McDaniel; sister, Madelynn Mayes; brothers, Billy Carroll, Ernest Carroll, and Ralph Carroll; and a nephew, Rudy Carroll.

She is survived by her nephews, Jeffrey Mayes, Michael Carroll, and Roger Carroll; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Carroll.

Jackie GoodfredJacqueline Renee Goodfred “Jackie”, age 68, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025 at St. Thomas West in Nashville, Tennessee surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 o’clock pm, Friday, November 14th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View, TN with Pat Waggoner officiating.

Burial will follow at 2:45PM at Spring Hill cemetery in Nashville with Jered Goodfred, Brian Goodfred, Jackson Goodfred, Hunter Goodfred, Timmy Burnett, and Eli Rogers serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View, TN on Thursday, November 13th from 3:00-7:00PM and again on Friday beginning at 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.

Mrs. Jackie was born on February 1, 1957 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a homemaker, loved her grandbabies, was the “life of the party”, and loved to have a beer & a good conversation.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Dabbs and Ruby Mae Buckner; and sister, Pam Dabbs.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Jerry “Hack” Goodfred; children, Brian “Bubba” Goodfred (Melissa), Jerrie Lynn “Sissy” Burnett (Tim), and Jered “Jay” Goodfred (Cassie); grandchildren, Briana Krueger (Coty), Timmy Burnett (Destiny), Destiny Mason (Justin), Chrissa Goodfred, Elaina Goodfred, Jackson Goodfred, and Hunter Goodfred; great-grandchildren, Emerie Krueger, Laken Burnett, and Brotie Krueger; brother, Terry Dabbs (Theresa), sister, Stephanie Taylor (Matthew); and special cousins, nieces & nephews.

Betty Bowen Whitten

Betty Bowen WhittenBetty Vickery Whitten, age 89 of Greenbrier, TN passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at her residence with family by her side. Graveside services will be held at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 11 AM. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Betty was born in Nashville, TN on October 1, 1936 to the late Emory and Frances Jones Vickery. She was also preceded in death by husband, Thomas Perry Whitten and a brother, Buddy Vickery.

She was retired from the Metro Nashville Sheriff’s office as a Payroll Clerk and was a member of the Elks Club. She loved her family very much and enjoyed shopping with girlfriends. She also loved making people happy and making them laugh. She was said to be the one to always light up the room when she walked in.

She is survived by daughter, Sherol (Jeff) Scarbrough; granddaughters, Jenna (Terry) Hudson, Whitney (Mark) Kieffner; grandchildren, Jase Warden, Jayden Warden, Mia Hudson, Ledger Kieffner, Gray Kieffner; nephews, Kenny (Lisa) Vickery and Roger Vickery, and sister-in-law, Alene Goldstein.

Steven Rask
March 13, 1951 – November 8, 2025

 

Steven RaskSteven Mark Rask, age 74 of Pleasant View, Tennessee passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

A private graveside service will be conducted at EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View with his son-in-law, Tommy Swindle officiating.

Burial will follow with Tommy Swindle, Charlie Knobloch, Ricky Hines, and Noah Johnson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Stan Harrington, and Harold & David Herrmann.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 o’clock am, on Monday, November 24th, at First Baptist Church in Joelton. The family will received friends beginning at 10 o’clock am until the hour of service at 11:00 am.

Mr. Rask was born on March 13, 1951 in Alliance, Nebraska to the late Glen & Betty Gilliam Rask. Steven and his wife Pamela met in high school and after marrying were blessed with one son and four daughters. They started a family business, Gardner’s Supply in Bakersfield, California. He was chapter president of the FFA and worked with the youth in FFA and 4H. Their lives changed when they both asked Jesus in to their hearts. From that moment on God began a good work in Steven’s life. It was his desire for him to serve in men’s ministries. He loved to teach God’s word and sing His praises with his family. His life reflected one of his favorite songs, Amazing Grace; through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come, we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise as when we first begun. He was a member of First Baptist Joelton.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Christopher “Bubba” Rask, daughters, Joanna Knobloch and Sarah Rask, grandson, Caleb Johnson; and sisters, Patty Rask and Susan Sherlock.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pamela Rask; daughters, Corrie Rask and Hannah (Tommy) Swindle; grandchildren, Noah Johnson, Grace Johnson, Sarah Swindle, and Norah Swindle; brothers, Glen (Roberta) Rask and Michael (Brenda) Rask; sisters, Laurel Cox and Fritzi (Ricky) Hines.

Altha Marie SmithAltha Marie Smith, age 82 of Cottontown passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Skyline Medical Center. She was born April 1, 1943 in Ashland City, TN to Robert & Mary Frances Louallen Mitchell. She worked as a homemaker and was of the Church of Christ faith. She enjoyed farm life riding horses and raising her four children.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Boyd Smith; son, Anthony Boyd Smith; 2 sisters, Shirley Sanders and Sandra Carroll; brothers, Ed Mitchell and J.R. Mitchell. She is survived by her son, William (Elka) Smith, Cottontown, TN; daughters, Lorri Brown, Cottontown, TN and Lisa Henson, Portland, TN; grandchild, Crystal Henson; 2 great-grandchildren, Safiyah Attan and Shiloh Attan.

Funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 1pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Pastor Morris Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation is planned for Wednesday, November 12, 2025 4-8pm and Thursday, November 13, 2025 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Charles William Evers, Jr.

Charles William Evers, Jr.Charles William Evers, Jr., age 93, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with military honors will be conducted at 11am Sunday, December 7, 2025, in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield.

Mr. Evers was born January 26, 1932, in Newark, NJ, to the late Charles William Evers, Sr., and the late Catherine Marie Ford Evers. He joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 19 and retired 20 years later as a Major. After retirement from the military, Mr. Evers was a Carpet Salesman for a while before joining his daughter, Debbie, in her Accounting business. He was a proud member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE), and served as an Exalted Ruler, and part of the Ritual Team.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Audrey Evers; son, David (Robin) Evers; daughters, Kat (John) Hastings, Debbie Knight, and Sheri (Charlie) Rock; 9 grandchildren, Laura, Rebecca, Chris, Stephanie, Steven, Shellie, Kelsey, Audra and Christina; 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
