Fatal Crash on Sandy Springs Road Claims One Life Monday Afternoon

SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A serious crash in Springfield claimed one life Monday afternoon after the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree head-on.

According to Robertson County EMS Director Brent Dyer, the crash involved two people, with one reported to be unconscious. The crash occurred in the 3900 block of Sandy Springs Road at the Lipscomb Rd intersection, the first call coming into 911 at  4:33 pm. LOCATION OF CRASH

Robertson County EMS from the Coopertown station, along with an additional ambulance from the main station in Springfield, responded, supported by EMS supervisors, EMA, Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Coopertown Police.

Crews found one female patient who was ambulatory and stable at the scene. The second occupant, an adult male, required rapid extrication and on-scene resuscitation efforts. He was transported emergently to an area hospital, where resuscitation continued, but he was later pronounced deceased.

No further details on the cause of the crash or the identities of those involved have been released at this time. The THP is leading the investigation. As soon as they are prepared to release their findings, including the identities of the vehicle’s occupants, we will bring it to you.
