Vehicle vs Motorcycle Crash Leaves Two Injured in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE (SMOKEY BARN NEWS): Two people were transported to an area hospital following a vehicle VS motorcycle crash in Springfield, Monday afternoon. The crash occurred at the South Main Street and Central Avenue intersection, the first call coming into 911 at 5:35 PM.

According to official communications, at least one, possibly both, riders of the motorcycle went over the top of the vehicle during the impact. The other vehicle (a small SUV) sustained heavy damage consistent with the collision, though the driver of the SUV did not appear to be injured.

The motorcyclist and a passenger were transported by Robertson County EMS to NorthCrest Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The Springfield Fire Department also responded to treat the injured parties.

The Springfield Police Department is leading the investigation. No official cause of the crash has been released.

The SUV was able to be driven from the scene and did not require a tow. Payne Chevrolet recovered the motorcycle.
