Big Weekend Of Racing Set For Veterans Motorplex In Greenbrier
GREENBRIER, TENNESSEE (SMOKEY BARN NEWS): Veterans Motorplex at the Rim is set for a full weekend of racing action Friday and Saturday in Greenbrier, featuring a Friday night pre-race test-and-tune session followed by multiple featured races Saturday night, including 75-lap Pure Stock and Street Stock events and a 125-lap Crown Vic feature.
Friday night, May 15, the track will host a “PreRace Test and Tune Session” from 5 PM to 10 PM. The session is open to all makes of cars and will include HRA Street Stocks, Crown Vics, Pure Stocks, Pro 4 cars, and more. Entry is $100 per car, with crew members admitted free. Track officials note that works out to about $20 per hour if teams participate for the full five hours.
Then on Saturday, May 16, Veterans Motorplex at the Rim will host a full race card beginning at 6 PM.
Featured events include:
• 75-lap Pure Stock feature
• 75-lap HRA Street Stock feature
• 125-lap Crown Vic race
• 30-lap Pocket Rockets
• 30-lap SRM Pro 4s
• 20-lap Scrappers race
One Saturday promotion advertises “$1500 Guaranteed To Win” for the 125-lap Crown Vic event. Another poster states if 40 or more cars compete, the purse increases to $2000 to win.
Saturday race day procedures show pit gates opening at 12 PM, with practice sessions beginning at 1:30 PM. Qualifying for Pocket Rockets, SRM Pro 4, Crown Vics, Pure Stocks, and HRA Street Stocks is scheduled for 4:15 PM. A drivers meeting will be held at 5:15 PM at the tech shed, followed by an invocation at 5:55 PM. Racing begins at 6 PM.
The posted practice schedule includes:
• Pocket Rockets: 1:30 PM to 1:33 PM and 2:50 PM to 2:53 PM
• SRM Pro 4: 1:35 PM to 1:38 PM and 2:55 PM to 2:58 PM
• Crown Vics: 1:40 PM to 1:58 PM and 3 PM to 3:18 PM
• Pure Stocks: 2 PM to 2:18 PM and 3:20 PM to 3:38 PM
• HRA Street Stocks: 2:20 PM to 2:38 PM and 3:40 PM to 3:58 PM
• Scrappers: 2:40 PM to 2:43 PM and 4 PM to 4:03 PM
Officials are also reminding participants that no balls or toys are allowed in the pits or infield, and bicycles, e-bikes, and scooters are prohibited in those areas as well.
The track’s receiver frequency is listed as 454.0000.
