ADAMS, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) — A serious single-vehicle crash on Kinneys Road at Glen Raven Road sent two children and their mother to area hospitals Wednesday morning. MAP

The first call came into 911 at approximately 8:48 a.m. According to Adams Fire Chief Donovan Tucker, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree head-on.

Three people were in the vehicle, including two children. A 4-year-old child was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries. A 2-year-old child was transported by ground ambulance to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital with the mother.

While en route, the children’s mother experienced a medical emergency inside the ambulance. A Metro Nashville ambulance was called to intercept the transport and assist.

All three occupants were reported to be in serious condition.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the investigation; however, the official cause of the crash has not been released.

The Adams Fire Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, Robertson County EMS, and Robertson County Emergency Management Agency all responded to the scene.

The name of the helicopter service was not immediately available. The investigation remains ongoing.
