I-65 North Shut Down After Fiery Semi Crash Near Bethel Road
ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Interstate 65 North is expected to remain closed for an extended period following a crash involving two tractor-trailers Tuesday morning, the first call coming into 911 at 6:20 AM.
According to Austin Bogle, Deputy Director of the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, the crash occurred on I-65 North between mile markers 104 and 105, just north of the Bethel Road exit (Exit 104).
Bogle said two semi-trucks were involved in the collision. While the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, one tractor-trailer caught fire on the shoulder. The second truck, which was hauling paper products, spilled its entire load across the interstate, and that cargo also caught fire.
Traffic is being diverted off I-65 North at Exit 104 (Bethel Road), and motorists should expect significant delays while crews work to extinguish the fire, clear the wreckage, and remove the debris.
We have only minor injuries to report.
Agencies on scene include the Robertson and Sumner County Emergency Management Agencies, White House City Fire, White House Community Volunteer Fire Department, Millersville Fire Department, Cross Plains Fire Department, Greenbrier Fire Department, Robertson County EMS, Sumner County EMS, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, Millersville Police Department, the Tennessee Department of Transportation, and O.E.S. Environmental.
