Cedar Hill Man Fabricates Home Invasion to Gain Estranged Girlfriend’s Sympathy
CEDAR HILL, TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) – A Cedar Hill man is expected to face charges after authorities say he fabricated a home invasion and placed a false 911 call in an effort to gain sympathy from his recently estranged girlfriend.
According to the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call around 4:00 a.m. on Aug. 2, 2026, reporting a home invasion at a residence on Drake Road in Cedar Hill.
The caller, identified as Alec Paine, 22, told dispatchers that two men had broken into his home and that he was hiding in a bedroom. After deputies arrived, Paine reported that the alleged suspects had fled into a nearby cornfield.
Deputies deployed a K-9 unit and a drone to conduct an extensive search of the area but found no signs of any suspects.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Paine later admitted to investigators that he had fabricated the home invasion and placed the false 911 call in an effort to gain sympathy from his recently estranged girlfriend.
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office said the case will be presented to the Grand Jury for formal charges.
