Springfield Home Heavily Damaged In Challenging Lahr Road Fire
SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) — A Springfield home sustained heavy damage following a challenging fire on Lahr Road Tuesday evening. The fire that kept firefighters on the scene for more than four hours.
According to Springfield Fire Chief Jeff GLA DOS KEY Glodoski, the fire started on the back deck of the home. From there, the flames traveled upward into the attic and spread across the entire attic space. Glodoski described it as a very challenging fire.
The first call came into 911 at 7:15 p.m. reporting a structure fire in the 4700 block of Lahr Road. Firefighters remained on the scene until approximately 11:39 p.m., making it a roughly four-and-a-half-hour operation.
Despite the extensive damage, there were no reported injuries, and no pets were inside the home at the time of the fire.
The home sustained extensive fire damage and will likely be a total loss. The condition of the home’s contents was not clear at the time of this report. Even in areas where belongings may have escaped direct fire damage, smoke and water damage could be significant.
Springfield firefighters worked for hours to bring the fire under control and protect as much of the home and its contents as possible.
The Springfield Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Robertson County EMA, Robertson County EMS and the Springfield Police Department.
