Marjorie Doss
October 13, 1937 – September 2, 2026
Marjorie Doss, 88, of Adairville, KY, passed away September 2, 2026. She was of the Baptist Faith, loved God, her family and giving to charity.
She is preceded by her parents, John Johnson and Hazel Neihart. She is survived by her children, Sherry (Tommy) Hogan, Robin (Rob) Nichols, Kim (Jeff) Head and Jeff Doss; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice Richardson and Roma Kolster.

Jerry Wayne Rice

Jerry Wayne Rice, 78, was born December 13, 1947, in Madison, Tennessee, and passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Nashville following a short illness.
Jerry was raised on his family’s farm in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He spent many years in the Chattanooga area before making his home in White House, Tennessee, where he and his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Rice, lived for more than two decades.
Above all else, Jerry was a devoted family man. The greatest loves of his life were his wife, children, and grandchildren. He and Cindy shared 22 wonderful years of marriage filled with love and devotion. Jerry had an incredibly generous heart. He cared deeply for the people in his life and was always willing to help family and friends, never hesitating to give of himself when someone he loved was in need.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Rice; his children, Jennifer Hayes (Brian), Kathy Wills, Mary Beth Kingsbury (Jacob), Ryan Burke (Lisa), Kevin Burke (Lindsey), Lauren Terhune (Nick), Chris Vitulli (Whitney), Cameron Vitulli (Sydney), Danielle Hester (Jeffrey), and Joey Rice (Cloe); and his 18 beloved grandchildren, who brought tremendous joy and pride to his life.
Jerry had a long and successful career, along with an entrepreneurial spirit that took him in many directions. In his younger years, he owned and operated a service station and worked as a cameraman for WSMV. Throughout his career, he also owned a radio station and a pawn shop, served as a vice president for a major paint company, and worked as a vice president in logistics.
In 2004, Jerry and his business partner, Danny Morris, founded Morico Metal Works. Jerry and Cindy were owners of the company, which became an important part of their lives and a lasting part of Jerry’s professional legacy. After many successful years, Jerry retired to devote his time to caring for Cindy. While Jerry experienced success in many careers and businesses throughout his life, the accomplishment he valued most was the family and life he built.
Jerry was an avid University of Tennessee fan. He loved his Vols, and Tennessee game days were always special to him.
Faith and church were also an important part of Jerry’s life. His connection to Walnut Grove Methodist Church began more than 45 years ago, and he continued to attend there from time to time throughout the last decade. Jerry and Cindy also attended Luton’s Methodist Church together.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Harold Rice; his brother, Harold Rice Jr.; his sister, Carol Misch; his former wives, Mary Fulfer Rice and Agnes Willis Rice; and his beloved son-in-law, Donny Wills. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Nancy Rice, wife of his late brother Harold, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
There is comfort in imagining Jerry and Donny together again, watching their Tennessee Vols and cheering them on side by side.
Jerry will be remembered for his generous heart, his devotion to his family, and the way he gave so freely to those he loved. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who lived a full and accomplished life. His greatest legacy will always be the family he loved so deeply and the countless lives made better simply because Jerry was a part of them.
Visitation will be held at a Goodlettsville Cole & Garrett on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Beech Cemetery.

Janice Nicholson
September 15, 1947 – September 10, 2026
Janice Rachel Redfern Nicholson, affectionately known as “Janmaw” age 78, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Thursday, September 10, 2026, at NHC in Springfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock pm, Sunday, September 13th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Randy Riggs officiating.
Burial will follow in Good Springs Cemetery in Pleasant View with her grandsons, Zach Garza, Noah Nicholson, and Micah Nicholson; grandson-in-law, Cole Walker; brothers, Dale Redfern and Mark Redfern; and nephews, George Hardy and Allen “Bug” Nicholson serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 12th from 1:00-5:00PM, and again on Sunday beginning at 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00PM.
Mrs. Janice was born on September 15, 1947, in Springfield, Tennessee to the late Joseph and Nellie Norris Redfern. She worked at Acme Boot Company in Ashland City, babysat for a number of years in her home, and finished her work years at CEI (now Johnson Electric) in Springfield. Mrs. Janice was an extraordinarily ordinary woman. The simplest things made her happy such as books, pocketbooks, a strong, black cup of coffee, yard sales and visits to the library and Goodwill. Janmaw dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a former member of Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church, and most recently Sycamore Chapel church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wayne Nicholson; infant son, Barry Wayne Nicholson; and her brother, Clarence Redfern.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Jo (Freddie) Garza; son, Tim “Bowser” (Beverly) Nicholson; brothers, Dale Redfern and Mark (Sara) Redfern; grandchildren, Zach (Sarah) Garza; Rachel (Cole) Walker, Noah Nicholson, and Micah Nicholson; best friend and “Sissy” Lorene Delius; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and her NHC Springfield family who provided years of love and care.
If so desired, in memory of Janice’s love of reading, the family suggests purchasing a book to donate to a school, a library, a church, or to a friend.

Jeremy Goodman
October 2, 1982 – September 9, 2026
Jeremy Paul Goodman, age 43 of Pleasant View, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, after a serious accident in Meridian , Mississippi.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock pm, Tuesday, September 15th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with family and friends officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant View United Methodist Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 15th from 10:00AM until the hour of service at 2:00PM.
Jeremy was born on October 2,1982 in Dallas, Texas to Kenneth Goodman and Peggy Stephens Speir. Jeremy was an electrical engineer and a veteran of the U.S. Army who was stationed at Fort Campbell. He dedicated his life to serving others, both professionally and personally. He was very hardworking, dependable, intelligent, compassionate and always willing to lend a hand.
Jeremy knew how to enjoy life, like playing the guitar, disc golf, and spending time with his family. He was a model husband, father and man. His love and devotion to Lori and their two sons are evident in everyone around him and puts them first.
Jeremy is deeply loved by his coworkers, friends, and community through his kindness, humor, and character. He is a cargo short, flip flopping, and go to seek sunshine-beach ever chance he can kind of guy.
He loved being outdoors grilling, making brunch, which was his favorite along with his very popular banana bread. He was a man who likes to sit down for a meal instead of drive thru grab and go. He always danced in his seat to his favorite songs and life was never dull with him.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John “Jack” and Audrey Stephens; uncle, John “Marty” Stephens; and aunt, Mary Goodman.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 19 years, Lori Goodman; children, Brody Goodman and Keegan Bilodeau; sisters, Crystal (Monty) Gaither and Amber (Josh) Grubb; mother-in-law, Maura De Serio (George); sister-in-law, Brittany (Will) Dickson; and a host of loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gary Neal Hutson
March 31, 1953 – September 8, 2026
With hearts of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved “Papa G”, Gary Neal Hutson, Age 73 of Greenbrier on Tuesday evening, September 9, 2026 at Skyline Medical Center. He was born March 31, 1953 in Nashville, TN to Cornelius “Neal” & Helen Wherry Hutson. Growing up with three older sisters and many older cousins, Gary was their real-life “baby doll.” He was undoubtedly loved, fussed over, and spoiled until other boy cousins and his younger brother, Clif, came along. Gary finally had someone else to share the attention with.
Growing up you could often find Gary outside under a tree and digging in the dirt. He learned at an early age the craft of ditch digging and operating heavy equipment. His love for his craft led him to start Hutson Improvement Company and eventually transitioning to a career with his brother at C.E. Hutson Electric. Gary built a life whose impact can be measured through his kindness and character, his generosity, his humor, his desire to help others, and the love for his family.
His pride and joy was found in his marriage of 48 years to his loving wife, Nancy. He was the best “girl dad” to Brandi and Kacie as his childhood prepared him for life in a house full of girls. He welcomed with open arms and heart Josh Warren as his own son. He had many words of wisdom for everyone but his favorite was “do something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” In his final season, he loved more than anything being Papa G to his four granddaughters and namesake grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Peggy Wright, Patricia Barrett & Brenda Wills. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Hutson, Greenbrier, TN; son, Josh (Cassie) Warren, Hendersonville, TN; daughters, Brandi (Bruce) Rang, Hendersonville, TN and Kacie (Joe) de Saint Georges, Clarksville, TN; brother, Clif (Fran) Hutson, White House, TN; 5 grandchildren; Karleigh, Garrett, Annabelle, Emma, and Elizabeth.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 4pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House. Visitation will begin at 2pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Mr. Hutson will be inurned at White House Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Pamela Jean Stack
April 12, 1958 – September 7, 2026
Pamela Jean Brooksher Stack, age 68, of Adams, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026 at the Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 5pm Friday, September 11th, in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Shane Allen and Eli Carlisle officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-5pm Friday at the funeral home.
Ms. Stack was born April 12, 1958, in Springfield, to the late Omer Gene and Thelma Brooksher. She was a 1976 graduate of Jo Byrns High School, worked for the Robertson County Board of Education, Stack’s Market and International Paper. Pam loved her family above everything, and anyone who knew her knew that. She made sure that her friends were taken care of and was always up for a lake day, a beach trip, or a UT Vols Football game.
She is survived by her sons, John and Jacob Stack; sister, Marcia (Ronny) Carlisle; nephews, Eli (Shauna) Carlisle and Chance (Bella) Carlisle; niece, Ginger Carlisle; great niece, Claire Carlisle; and great nephews, Brooks, Cooper and Lucas Carlisle.
