CLARKSVILLE, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A suspect has been identified and arrested following a series of storage unit burglaries in Clarksville, thanks in large part to help from the community, according to the Clarksville Police Department.

Police say the investigation began after burglaries were reported at Stor-Alot Storage, located at 2021 Tiny Town Rd. The incidents occurred on March 6 at approximately 2:00 a.m., when surveillance cameras captured a suspect on the property.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, the suspect was seen wearing “a black long-sleeve shirt with ‘ARMY’ written across the front in yellow letters, black pants, and brown boots.”

On March 10, the Clarksville Police Department issued a press release asking for the public’s help in identifying the man captured on surveillance footage.

“Thanks to the quick response and cooperation from members of the community, numerous tips were received identifying the suspect as 22-year-old Ethan Randall Winn of Adams, Tennessee,” the department said.

Detectives with the Clarksville Police Department’s District 3 and District 2 Criminal Investigations Units, working with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, later located and arrested Winn at his residence.

Police say detectives also recovered stolen property during the investigation.

“During the investigation, detectives allegedly recovered a significant amount of property that had been identified as stolen from multiple storage units in Clarksville,” the Clarksville Police Department said.

Winn was booked into the Montgomery County Jail earlier this morning, and his bond has been set at $115,000.

The Clarksville Police Department credited community members for helping investigators identify the suspect.

“The Clarksville Police Department would like to thank the community for their assistance,” the department said. “The information provided by citizens played a key role in quickly identifying the suspect and helping investigators recover stolen property. Your willingness to share information continues to make a meaningful difference in keeping our community safe.”
