ALERT: Portland-ATV/Van Crash-North Harris Rd CLOSED

PORTLAND TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – At least three people sustained serious injuries after a four-wheeler and a Honda van collided on North Harris Rd in Portland Wednesday evening.

The crash occurred on North Harris Rd. at Evergreen St., the first call going out at 7:42 pm. LOCATION OF CRASH

We are still working to get more information from officials but at least three people were injured, one seriously, with one report of CPR being administered at the scene and an air-medic was called to transport one patient from the Portland Hospital landing zone. Portland Police are investigating the crash. Two of the patients are reportedly minors.

North Harris Rd was closed while Portland Police investigated the crash.

Portland Police, the Portland Fire Department and Sumner County EMS all responded to the scene.

UPDATE:

We have an update on the crash from Police Chief Jason Williams of the Portland Police Department. According to Chief Williams, the ATV had three occupants onboard when it collided with a van. The ATV did not have functioning brakes at the time of the collision, Chief Williams said.

All occupants of the ATV: a juvenile female, a juvenile male (driver), and an adult female, were transported to Nashville hospitals. Two occupants were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, one occupant is still undergoing treatment and is in critical condition. The occupant of the van was uninjured.

The investigation is still active and ongoing.
