Andrew Thompson son, of Beth Anthony and grandson of Edwin Anthony is the 2013 national FFA winner of the specialty crop production. Andrew was also the Tennessee state star farmer and specialty crop production winner in Gatlinburg, TN in April.
Andrew has worked for his grandfather since he was very young and now has his own crops. Andrew plans to take his grandfather’s part of the farm over soon. His grandfather has taught him and watched over his working skills for sometime now and feels he is more than capable of taking care of the crops. Andrew has worked very hard and participated in several of the FFA competition where he holds several 1st and 2nd place titles.
Andrew graduated from Jo Byrns High School in 2011 and served as president of the FFA chapter for 2 yrs. A special thanks to his advisor Gary Gibson for his true dedication and his loyalty to Andrew and the Jo byrns FFA chapter, none of this would be possible if it wasn’t for Gary.
