Barn With 300 Rolls Of Hay Ignites In Portland
PORTLAND TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Four fire departments were called in to battle a large barn fire in Portland Friday evening.
The call came in around 7:30 pm that a barn with about 300 rolls of hay and equipment had ignited. The barn is located on Long Rd near I-65 and 52. MAP
Firefighters from Portland, Orlinda, Cross Plains, White House Station 51 and 52 all responded to the call.
According to Orlinda Fire Chief Dusty Johnson, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Due to the nature of the fire, it will likely smolder for several days but provides no real danger to surrounding communities.
