Body Discovered In White House Yard Linked To Earlier Crash

WHITE HOUSE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Officials in Robertson County are investigating after a body was discovered in a yard of a home located on Pleasant Grove Rd in White House.

The investigation is still ongoing but what we know so far is, around 8:26 am Sunday morning officials responded to a vehicle crash in the 3500 block of Pleasant Grove Rd. The vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Genesis, had reportedly struck a pole. Upon arrival, no occupants were found in or around the vehicle so the vehicle was towed.

Roughly an hour and a half later, (9:55 am) a citizen called 911 to report an unresponsive man in the yard of a home in the 3400 block of Pleasant Grove Rd, about a 4th of a mile from the crash site. PROXIMITY MAP Robertson County EMS responded and pronounced the man, now identified as 54-year-old Andrew Armstrong of White House Tennessee deceased at the scene.

Evidence suggests the gentleman may have been looking for help following the crash and walked about 4th of a mile before collapsing due to the extreme cold or an injury.

According to Robertson County EMS, a cause of death was not immediately apparent at the scene. There were no obvious or visible signs of extreme injury or trauma however it’s possible the gentleman sustained internal injuries. The individual, identified as a male in his 50’s, was transported to the medical examiner for an autopsy. Officials speculated that the time window for the crash would be between 1 am and 8:30 am Sunday morning.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the investigation, as soon as they are prepared to release their finding, including the identity of the gentleman, we will bring them to you.

UPDATE:

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is now releasing more information on the incident.  The THP indicates that they were dispatched in reference to a vehicle sitting in the front yard of 3520 Pleasant Grove Road. An investigation revealed that the driver had left on foot after the crash.

THP accident investigators determined that Armstrong ran off the road (right) and struck two mailboxes. The vehicle then went back across the roadway and struck a dirt embankment, utility box and another mailbox before striking a standing tree in a yard facing south. During their investigation, troopers were advised by dispatch, of a male subject that was found deceased in the front yard of an address about .25 miles down the road. An investigation revealed that Armstrong was the owner of the vehicle that had crashed.
