Bomb Scare Turns Out To Be Tool Bag at Lights Chapel Baptist in Greenbrier

Sources tell Smokey that some one dropped off a package/bag on the back porch of Lights Chapel Baptist church in Greenbrier around 7:30pm and quickly drove away. Church members noticed the package and thought it was strange and called police. At first glance, officials suspected dynamite and called in additional authorities. THP Bomb Squad, R.L. Douglas of Emergency Management for Robertson County, Greenbrier Fire, EMS, Police and Robertson County Sheriff officers have set up a command post to investigate.

Lights Chapel Rd is blocked off  completely in both directions.

Update: According to Fire Chief Billy Wilson the package was just a bag of tools but a hammer with a red cloth wrapped around it  looked a lot like dynamite and officials cautioned everybody to stay back until further investigating revealed it was safe.

Lights Chapel Rd is back open.
