We believe the family may have tried to drive the boy to the hospital
Smokey Barn News, Sunday December 1, 2013
Smokey received many inquiries on this story so we’re putting out a brief. What we have so far from several sources is that a nine year old boy was accidentally shot in the arm in Logan County TN. Officials are calling it an “accidental discharge”, according to Russell Gupton EMS Assistant Director, who went on to say that it may have been buckshot, perhaps 410 gauge. We believe the boy’s family may have tried to drive the boy to the hospital and made it as far as Adams when they called 911 for help, but we are still confirming some of our facts.
Medics were called to 203 Keysburg road in Adams. Adams fire and EMS responded to the call. According to Robertson County Dispatch the call came in at 3:08 P.M. Sunday Afternoon. As we understand it the boy was stable and awake and the injury was to his left bicep. Medics called the injury serious. After an assessment by Adams Fire a life-flight helicopter was called and the boy was transported to Vanderbilt medical Center Childrens Hospital in Nashville, Gupton said. According to Logan County dispatch, Logan County Police (who are working the case) are trying to determine exactly where the boy was shot, Tennessee or Kentucky.
We are still putting this story together so check back for updates.
