BREAKING: Burned Body In Adams: Four Arrested, One More Wanted Back In February

Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, with the assistance of the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and the Clarksville Police Department, have arrested four Clarksville residents in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found burned in a field in Adams Tennessee last month.

At the request of 19th Judicial District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Special Agents, in a joint investigation with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a scene off Highway 76 in Adams where burned human remains were found on February 1st. The identity of the victim was later confirmed as Amy LeeAnn Murphy, 31, of Clarksville. Through the course of the investigation, authorities developed information which led them to Kellum Williams, 34, Carol Williams, 38, Lee Poe, 27, and Sandra Murphy, 19, all of Clarksville as the individuals allegedly responsible for Amy Murphy’s death on or around January 31st, as well as the subsequent placement of her body in the field in Adams Tennessee.

On Monday, a special Montgomery County Grand Jury returned indictments against the five individuals. Kevin Forman, 26, Kellum Williams, 34, and Carol Williams, 38, are each charged with First Degree Murder and Abuse of a Corpse. Lee Poe, 27, is charged with Accessory to First Degree Murder and Abuse of a Corpse. Sandra Murphy, 19, is charged with Accessory to First Degree Murder. Four of the five individuals have been arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail. Bond was set at $100,000 for each individual. The fifth individual, Kellum Williams, is still at large and has been added to the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted list.

Williams (Pictured right) is 6 foot 5 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds. He was last seen driving a light blue 2000 Cadillac Deville with Tennessee tag S4652R. Williams uses the aliases of Earle Kellum Thomas, KJ Williams, Jason Taylor and Kellum Tyrone Williams.

Williams goes by a nickname of “New York”. Williams has scars on his left arm, left forearm, head, upper lip and eye. He has tattoos on both arms and his right forearm. He is believed to be a prospect member of the Wheels of Soul motorcycle gang in Clarksville. Kellum Williams is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kellum Williams is urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463). There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Two days after the grim discovery of the body in Adams special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation were asking for the public’s help in identifying a ring found at the scene. At that time they had not identified the body.

Amy LeeAnn Murphy was found in a field off Highway 76 in Adams, near the Montgomery County line. During the course of the investigation, agents found a ring (Pictured) near the body. Agents were hoping someone might recognize the ring in an effort to identify the body.

Early Sunday morning around 6:45AM, two neighbors living adjacent to Highway 76 near Port Royal Rd in Adams, Tn noticed a small fire and called 911.

According to Robertson County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Ryan Martin, Adams Fire responded to the call, as firefighters were working to extinguish the flames they noticed what they believed to be were human remains.

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate. Agents with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office did confirm it was charred human remains. Due to the nature and scope of the scene, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist in the investigation. The T.B.I has specialized equipment and investigators trained to deal with this kind of a situation.

The body is situated about 500 feet from the Sulphur Fork Creek on HWY 76 just shy of the Montgomery County border about 100 feet off the road in an open field. (Location Of Body)

A secondary scene (pictured right) near the road has also been taped off. No information has been released as to how this second area is connected to the investigation at this time. When asked if foul play was suspected police said, “It’s under investigation.”

Police have not identified the body as of 1:30am Monday. Unless some sort of identification is found on the body it may be days before an official announcement is made. Click here for Smokey’s interview with police.

Timeline: 6:45am- Initial call comes into 911, Adams Fire responds. 7:30am- Robertson County Sheriff’s Office arrives. 1:30pm-Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrives. 7:29pm- All units clear the scene.
