Butcher Knife Robber On The Run In Coopertown
COOPERTOWN TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The Coopertown Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in identifying the subject pictured in connection to an attempted armed robbery that occurred at Mapco on Tuesday morning.
According to Cooperstown Police, the suspect entered the station located at 2732 York Rd around 5:40 with a butcher knife. The cashier was out on the floor and ran for the counter and was cut by the suspect as she fled. Police say the wound required several stitches.
The suspect then ran and jumped over the counter. The cashier escaped back onto the floor while the suspect tried to get the register open.
After a failed attempt to get the register open, the suspect fled on foot.
Anyone that has information regarding this incident may remain anonymous.
When captured, the perpetrator will face the charge of Attempted Aggravated Armed Robbery.
