Smokey’s still piecing together exactly what happened but so far what we have is that Cliatt was driving a Toyota SUV in Coopertown left the roadway and struck a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred on 431 near Duncan Lane around 2:30AM. Location of Wreck
According to the THP report Cliatt was traveling North on 431 and went across the center line, then into a ditch, across a yard as the vehicle turned over on its side and impacted a tree. She was not wearing a safety belt, the THP officer at the scene believes it would have made a difference. There is no mention of an initial cause.
Smokey Would like to convey our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Cassandra Cliatt in what is surely a sad day.
