Cedar Hill Area Teen Dies in Fatal Accident Saturday

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Smokey Barn News has confirmed that a Cedar Hill area teen has lost his life in a motor vehicle accident. The accident occurred just after 11:00 p.m. Saturday evening in the 3000 block of Flewellyn Rd in the Cedar Hill area.
“A pickup truck left the roadway and hit a tree, broadside, on the drivers side. The 10 to 12 inch diameter tree then fell on top of the vehicle and the driver was pinned,” according to Pleasant View Deputy Fire Chief Derek Noe.
The young man was pronounced deceased at the scene by Robertson County EMS who were the first to arrive on scene, according to Chief Noe.
Though Smokey Barn News has been in communication with friends of the young man and one official has indicated that the family has been notified, the Tennessee Highway Patrol has yet to officially release the name of the teen. As soon as we confirm that the family has been properly notified by the THP, Smokey Barn News will release the victim’s name. Out of respect for the family we ask that you do not add the victims name to comments.
As far as a cause of the accident, the Tennessee Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation and they have yet to release their report. As soon as we have it we will bring it to you.
Pleasant View Volunteer Fire department, the THP, Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and Robertson County EMS Medic 5 all responded to the scene.
The thoughts and prayers of the staff at Smokey Barn News are with the family as they face this tragedy.
