Counterfeiters Hit Springfield Businesses

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Springfield Police are reaching out to the community for assistance identifying individuals wanted for allegedly passing counterfeit money in several locations inside Springfield.

According to Springfield Police, the bills passed in Springfield have been traced to other bills passed at locations in Mt. Juliet Tn and Louisville Ky.

The counterfeit money is being passed in large sums of 20’s at retail stores including the Dollar General Store and Wal-mart. The money has a wax paper texture and has a strong odor of cologne and baby powder. The individuals are purchasing gift cards with the counterfeit money.

Springfield Police are asking anyone with information on the individuals please contact the Springfield Police Department as soon as possible.
