Couple Saved from Flooded House by Emergency Team

SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – In Springfield, Tennessee, fast-rising floodwaters left a couple stranded in their home, prompting a swift response from the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), North Robertson Fire & Rescue and Robertson County EMS.

Situated near Hopewell Road near Youngville Rd, MAP the home became an island amidst rising waters. Robertson County EMA Director Chance Holmes, alongside EMA Chief of Operations Austin Wallace and team member Tyler Davis, joined forces with North Robertson Fire and Rescue’s Chief Chad Gregory and Robertson County EMS Director Brend Dyer to address the emergency.

Under Chief Gregory’s guidance, the team navigated through the floodwaters to reach the family of four – a husband, wife, and their two dogs. – While the couple awaited rescue within their inundated home, Robertson County EMA deployed a rescue boat to retrieve the family. The wife and one dog would go first, followed by her husband along with their second canine companion.

Thanks to the team effort, the couple and their dogs are safe with family this evening.
