Crash Stops Inches From Sleeping Children In Greenbrier

GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Greenbrier family had an abrupt start to their day Tuesday after a pickup truck left the roadway, hit two mailboxes and a utility before landing just inches from their children’s bedroom.

The accident occurred on Edgar Dillard Rd just before 6 am Tuesday morning. MAP

The vehicle did hit the home but the Tennessee Highway Patrol is calling it more of a “bump.” According to District Fire Chief Mike Bauer with the White House Community Volunteer Fire Department, the mailboxes and the utility pole absorbed most of the energy from the vehicle before it hit the home. “It could have been much worse,” Chief Bauer said.

No injuries were reported, the driver was taken into custody under suspicion of DUI.
