R.C. Fire Crews Save Another Home From Certain Destruction

Fire Herbert Shannon slider

Fire crews were called to a home  at 6856 Herbert Shannon Rd in Springfield shortly after 11pm Tuesday night.  White House Community 51, 52. Greenbrier and Ridgetop fire crews responded to the blaze. The attached garage is a total loss but  fire crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to the house which is rather remarkable since the two structures were attached and situated very near each other. If you recall back on Feb 9th White House Fire was able to save another home located at 919 Meadowlark Drive in White House. For More on that fire click here…

According to Asst Chief of the White House Community Fire Department Joe Williams, the owner of the rental property just happened to be at the house at the time of the fire but escaped without injury.  Smokey spoke to the owner who indicated that he was unloading materials for renovations and left his truck running in the garage with the garage door open. He only planed to be in the house for a minute. Just minutes later when he turned around to head back to the truck he noticed the fire in the garage.

Though the fire is still under investigation the consensus at the scene was that the culprit was probably the truck.

There was an apartment above the garage which was also  destroyed but fire crews were able to save the  house which sustained only minor smoke damage.
