Cross Plains Woman Charged With DUI After Crashing Into Home

CROSS PLAINS TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Cross Plains woman is behind bars this evening facing numerous charges after allegedly crashing her pickup into a home.

Jennifer Young, 48, of Cross Plains is facing numerous charges that include; DUI, Reckless Endangerment, Vandalism, and Leaving The Scene Of An Accident.

The crash occurred in the 1400 block of Friendship Road around 7 pm Friday evening, less than a mile from Young’s home, according to arrest records. MAP

At least one person was inside the home at the time of the crash but no injuries were reported. According to Fire Chief Dusty Johnson with the Orlinda Fire Department, the house suffered major structural damage. Young was not injured in the crash.

Chief Johnson told Smokey Barn News that the pickup truck first crashed into a brick well water house before crashing into the home. After impact, the vehicle traveled into a field and spun around.

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Young was transported to the Robertson County Detention Facility in Springfield under a $15,000 bond.

The Orlinda Fire Department, Robertson County EMS, and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the call.
