ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Steve Jarrell known as the “DaddyO on the PatiO” to those that listened to local Springfield radio WSGI 1100 is back! The “DaddyO” spent over fifteen years taking requests and playing the oldies.

Steve returned to Robertson County a year ago making his home in Ridgetop.

“I left Springfield in 2017 and returned to my hometown in Fredericksburg, Virginia. From there to Myrtle Beach, SC. I was missing my family and friends here so I decided to move back to the area. Springfield had been my home since 1989 and I missed it,” Steve told Smokey Barn News.

Steve did not return to radio when he moved back but instead is employed by the Gaylord Opryland Resort.

When the Covid-19 virus forced the Resort to close, Steve, like most others, was furloughed.

“I was home, bored, and wanted to do something to be of help to all during the crisis. I decided that I could possibly be of help if I could go back on the air playing the oldies and taking requests again. Hoping that I can take folks away from the stress of the current events happening in today’s world.”

“I made a call to a friend in Virginia that owns an internet network station. I told him what I wanted to do and would it be possible to do a show on his network. He graciously agreed. So I immediately started to build a broadcast studio In my basement here in Ridgetop. It’s been so much fun hearing from local friends again and being able to play their favorites!”

Steve intends to stay on the air until he is called to come back to the resort.
