(DASHCAM VIDEO) Driver Pulls Gun During Road Rage Incident On Bethel Rd

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Goodlettsville man is behind bars this evening after allegedly pulling a gun during a road rage incident on Bethel Rd Thursday morning.

The incident occurred when the driver of a large Peterbilt tri-axle dump truck heading towards Vetrens Motorplex on Bethel Rd between I65 and Gideon Rd MAP came up on a vehicle that appeared to be tailgating another vehicle.

Smokey Barn News spoke to the dump truck driver about the encounter. He admits to inching up behind the driver while still maintaining a safe distance.  “I could tell the woman that he was riding was uncomfortable, I know I got close but I didn’t get near as close as he did. I found it ironic he had a problem with me getting just a little close.”

In the dashcam video obtained by Smokey Barn News, the driver of the passenger car stopped in the middle of the road in front of the large truck. When the truck driver tried to go around the car he opened the door blocking the truck in. The driver then got out and yelled a little, and got back in his car. Then he got out again, this time with a gun. Fortunately, he only displayed the weapon and got back in his car.

No one was injured in the ordeal and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office was quick to identify and apprehend the driver now identified as 34-year-old John Blanford of Goodlettsville who is facing charges of aggravated assault and driving on a suspended license. Blanford is being held under a $12,000 bond.
