SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – One of Robertson County’s most popular eateries, the Depot Bar & Grill in Springfield, has temporarily closed until Friday to sanitize after a roommate of an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The Depot is located on Main St at 10th Ave. MAP According to a company representative, the decision was made out of an abundance of caution to protect customers and staff. The restaurant plans to reopen on Friday after all their employees are tested for COVID-19.

The Depot released the following statement regarding the situation.

“We have some unfortunate news. A valued employee of ours had a roommate test positive for COVID-19. So far, the roommate is fairing well, and our employee is doing well and not exhibiting symptoms. Out of an abundance of caution, we will immediately be closing the restaurant for sterilization as well as sending all employees for testing. We plan to reopen on Friday with all employees who have received a clean bill of health. Please keep our employee and their roommate in your thoughts and prayers as they recover.”

UPDATE Wednesday, June 17, 2020:

“We have decided to keep the restaurant closed through the weekend so we have the proper amount of time to sanitize it and wait on COVID-19 test results from our team. This is not something we want to rush. The safety of our employees and of our friends and families who dine with us is the most important thing to us, now and always.

Thank you for understanding and we will see you next week.”
