SOUTH HAVEN FOOTBALL
Did you know Springfield has an 8 man football team?
Tucked in on the Southside of Springfield is a small Christian School that lists a high school enrollment of about 100 and a total enrollment of 300 students. South Haven Christian School’s football team is probably the best team you’ve never heard of. The SHCS Patriots are a member of the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools (TACS) and are currently ranked number one in the state, with only 2 games left before the playoffs.
Friday night, October 11, at Springfield’s Martin Luther King Park, South Haven will honor its seniors while hosting the Memphis FCA Nighthawks in a non-conference game that will surely be packed with excitement. The Nighthawks team has amassed a record of 6-0 and has outscored its opponents an average of 39-10. FCA comes off its latest win (62-12) against Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The Patriot offense is led by Noah Edmondson, a junior quarterback, who is one in a bevy of backs that prides itself on a strong ground game. The defense is an aggressive hard-hitting squad that has left its opponents reeling due to what they call a “Wolf-Pack” mentality.
Sabin Demers (Sr.) and Drew Seaford (So.) lead a strong linebacker corps. Vincent Henry a 6-1, 240 pound Sophomore has made offensive lines and backfields miserable with his strength and blazing speed. South Haven Football has proven itself to be a winning program and a solid group of young men. Kick-off is at 7:00 pm. Come see a great night of football and support your South Haven Patriots. So needless to say, if you like to watch to great teams go head to head with a “Wolf-Pack” mentality the here you go. Don’t miss it, here’s a Google-Map to the game. We bring you ALL the News in Robertson County, Tennessee.
Thank you so much Smokey Barn for reporting on South Haven. So many in our county forget what a great private school with fantastic academics and athletics we have in our very own county. So many drive outside of the county to send their children to private schools. I also agree with Lynn. Many in the county don’t know the plight of SHCS to be allowed to play any outdoor sports in our own town/county. Football home games are played in Davidson County and home soccer games are played in Greenbrier.
Great article. The public has no idea how that school has been set aside by the news and the Springfield City Leaders. They get charged unreasonable amounts of money to play at MLK which has forced them to play several home games in Davison County. So teams that have traveled from Alabama and Memphis during the season have ate in Nashville establishments and slept in Nashville Motels. This City Government cant see the forest for the trees. I hope South Haven packs the house tonight. Maybe that will wake some people up.
Thank you for posting this article. This school has been around since 1986 and playing football for the last 7 years. It is a shame that the “standard” media in this county never will take the time to report on it’s smaller schools. There is more to news than just bad news and those of us who support South Haven, thank you.
I used to go to school there.
Uh….duh!
