SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The City of Springfield Parks and Recreation Department will host its inaugural Howl-O-Ween dog costume contest Saturday, October 17, at Central Bark Dog Park at Garner Street Park, located at 200 N. Garner Street.
The free community event will run from 2 to 4 p.m. and is open to the public.
“We have a wonderful community of dog lovers in Springfield, and I’m looking forward to bringing them together for a fun afternoon in the fall,” said Martha Haley, Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Programmer. “We’re excited to see the creative costumes and adorable dogs that will be participating!”
Howl-O-Ween will feature dog costume contests, food trucks and vendors. Participants may preregister online at springfieldtn.gov/parksrec or register onsite the day of the event. Onsite registration closes at 2:20 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three participants in five categories: Duo Costume, Homemade, Kid and Canine, Top Dog, and Best in Show.
All dogs must remain leashed while outside the fenced area of Central Bark Dog Park, and owners are required to follow all posted dog park rules.
